Lumineers

If the front parts of your teeth are discolored, or you have cracks and small gaps that you want to hide, it’s easy enough to have your teeth fitted with veneers. But we offer an alternative called Lumineers. Lumineers can cover up dental imperfections to help you smile with greater confidence.

Lumineers vs. Standard Veneers

There’s really nothing wrong with standard veneers. They cover the front of your tooth to present a better look for your teeth. They cover stains in your teeth, as well as other cosmetic issues like cracks and gaps that can mar the quality of your smile. Veneers are so thin they’re like wafers, so your teeth won’t have to be extensively prepared to have them fitted. Veneers are resistant to stains, and they’re permanently bonded to your teeth so their durability is unquestioned.

So what are Lumineers for? These are strictly speaking a new type of veneer, and in many important ways they’re superior to their standard counterparts. They’re even thinner than wafers, and they’re installed without the need to remove some of your tooth structures. This makes putting in the Lumineers a much simpler procedure, and that procedure is also painless.

Lumineer Installation

First there will be a consultation stage to confirm that you need veneers for your teeth and their imperfections. Once you and your dentist have agreed to the use of Lumineers, the dentist will then make a mold of your teeth so that the new Lumineers can be fitted perfectly with your current teeth. The molds along with the various images of your teeth will be sent to the lab where the Lumineers will be made.

On your next visit, the Lumineers will be ready and they’ll be installed on the front of your teeth. There will be some moderate etching on your teeth and then the Lumineers will be bonded to your teeth one at a time. We can make sure you have a nicely balanced bite so that you can avoid chipping your new Lumineers. You can also take the opportunity to make sure that the Lumineers fit perfectly and comfortable on your teeth.

Like ordinary veneers, Lumineers cover up the imperfections of your teeth to improve the quality of your smile. It can even cover up excessive gums so your smile isn’t as gummy as it used to be. Stains, gaps, and cracks on your teeth can be hidden away even as you give a wide smile throughout the day.

If you have imperfections in your teeth, then our Lumineers may be the perfect cover to provide you with the high quality of smile you want. Get in touch with our office, and we can check for sure if our Lumineers are the most suitable solutions for your teeth.
